Understanding what foods are made of (carbohydrate, fat, protein) and what roles those macronutrients play in the body are crucial pieces of knowledge that are missing in our society. So many people look for a quick fix and have no idea of the repercussion of certain actions on their long term health. This session is meant to be a 101 on macronutrients, how they function in the body, and how to manipulate them in order to achieve goals. There is also an emphasis on personal ownership, the power of choice, how to alter behavior in order to create a new relationship with food.
